ROUTE

Beaumont Tiles local + country hay from Forbes

Rod Mackander runs W & R Transport, an owner-operator outfit with two trucks — his Sitrak G7 twin-steer and a Fuso Shogun his wife drives. Most days it’s Beaumont Tiles around town, with country runs mixed in and hay carted down from Forbes for the Clydesdales they breed. When his new Sitrak landed, he wanted a bar that could carry serious lighting for night work out bush — and look the part doing it.

01 THE CHALLENGE

Rod had never run a bullbar before this one. The Sitrak came factory-bare up front, but the country night work needed proper mounting for spotties and a light bar — something factory couldn’t offer. He wanted a bar with real presence and strength, but light enough not to load up the front end, with clean spotlight mounting and good ground clearance. Being a brand-new model, finding an approved bar that suited the truck was the first hurdle.

02 THE SOLUTION

AJ’s were the first to have an approved bar to suit the new Sitrak G7 — and Rod had already read great reports. He went the full-height bar over the half-height purely for looks, finished in black powdercoat to set off the white cab. FUPS rated, with the strong-but-light build and generous lighting mounts he was after. From order to fitted and on the road took six weeks — and it turned up packed perfectly.

THE MOMENT IT EARNED ITS KEEP

A roo near Cowra, 11am, clear day. It went under the bar. Not a mark — Rod kept rolling and made the drop.

03 WHY IT WORKS FOR ROD

Built for lighting

Clean mounting for spotties and a light bar — exactly what the country night runs needed.

Strong but light

Real presence up front and good clearance, without piling weight onto the steer axles.

First to suit the Sitrak

AJ's had the first FUPS-approved bar to fit the new G7 — so Rod didn't have to wait or compromise.

Looks the part

Full-height in black powdercoat, set against the white cab — the look he was chasing.

"Being new to bullbars, all my future trucks will definitely have an AJ's bar. I was impressed with the order timeframe and delivery speed — and it was packed perfectly."
